BRIDGE (GAME OF CARDS)


The most popular and intelligent game of cards is BRIDGE.

In indoor games it is second to Chess, when skill is counted.

It is a game of people of class and taste. There are national and international tournaments of this game of Cards only.

Having all above characteristics it has a very interesting story of origin also.

The story goes like this:

There was an important bridge at a critical location in sixteenth century. It was guarded all the time by four persons. If there would be crisis four personal were available to guard. At normal times one was sufficient.

Hence the guards devised this game of cards. In this game only three players were playing at a time and fourth one was free to keep a guard, marching on the bridge. By the time one round of was finished, he was available to bid for next round. It was also very flexible as during next round some other one will on guard.
