TILAK AT START OF ANY JOURNEY/PROJECT
At the time of starting on journey elders
Apply TILAK on forehead : To keep coordination between body systems
1. Nervous system
2. Optical system
3. Blood circulation system

Sri S. Radhakrishnaiah explains it as under with a remark

As per Agama shastra, one should not perform any
ritual with out tilak on forehead – [Shoonya lalaate
na poojayet]. The smritees [books of teachings] of
Manu, Yajnavalkya, Parasara and Narada, prohibit
to be visible, with empty forehead. [Shoonya lalaatam
na darsayat]. Forehead is the junction of optic nerves.
On the junction, if the wet powder of Haldi [termaric]
or kumkum is applied, the optic nerves get activated
and it results into good vision.
As per Yoga Shastra centre point of forehead is the
place of Aajna chakra. If forehead is ,applied either
with Tilak or Vibhooti or Srichoornam Aagya [instruction]
chakra activates the spiritual path and Sadhak gets
fast results in his practice.

• Give a coconut : Complete one time food with water.
• A Gold / Silver coin : When the custom started coins only in
circulation & their value used to be on basis of
weight of metal. So it had the same value
irrespective of the place, country or regime.
